Below is a list of each manual deposit status and what it represents.
Processing:
This status is where a transaction goes once it has either been automatically accepted or manually approved. This status typically holds for an hour if the transfer requires manual review.
Completed:
Once a transaction has gone through Pending, then moved to Processing and has been deposited, it will show as Completed.
Blocklisted:
This occurs when the e-Transfer is attempted to be deposited and it is blocked by Interac. This status is temporary and occurs when a customer's email may need additional verification by Interac. This block typically varies widely and can last anywhere from 5 minutes up to several days. Once an additional verification email comes from Interac, we are able to deposit it again. In Blocklisted Status the funds are still in the customers control. As a best practice, customers are advised to allow up to 4 hours before initiating a cancellation and resending the payment.
Rejected:
If a payment was either rejected automatically by our filter, yourself or by a team member, it has a Rejected Status. This does not cancel the e-transfer on the customers side - the customer will need to cancel it. Rejections always happen due to the customer placing the wrong name or incorrect information in the memo.
Cancelled:
Due to non-acceptance for a long period of time by our system. This does not reject the transfer as it will cause issues for the customer to resend a transfer in the future - the customer will need to cancel it on their end. The reason for a cancellation is that the system could not deposit the transfer within an hour - this is usually due the customers bank not releasing the funds upon our acceptance of the transfer. The steps for the customer to cancel the transfer are for them to go into their bank app and follow the below instructions:
(Bank App -> Interac Transfer -> History -> Cancel Transaction)
Note: If the transaction is Pending, Cancelled, or Rejected, the payment is still fully controlled by the customer and they are able to cancel the transaction.
